The truck’s nationwide tour is designed to promote Idaho potatoes, but its Eugene visit carried an extra layer of community impact—partnering with Food for Lane County to turn signatures into meals.

Beyond the novelty, the truck’s “Big Help” initiative added a meaningful local twist. For every signature collected at the event, the Idaho Potato Commission donated $1 to Food for Lane County, with each dollar providing two emergency meals. Organizers emphasized that the program has grown far beyond its original short-term plan, becoming a beloved attraction that raises both awareness and funds for food banks across the country. The Eugene stop alone could translate into thousands of meals for residents in need, proving that even a giant foam potato can make a real difference.
